Is Tiny Desk going away?
Will PBS and NPR be gone from the airways?
Is Sesame Street gone for good?
In a word: no.
In a few more words: no, but purse strings are going to get tight.
The Center for Public Broadcasting is the nonprofit corporation that allocates funding to local stations, for services such as the Emergency Alert System or for arts programming with funds from the federal government.Currently, the CPB only provides a portion of the funds needed to create your favorite programs, so expect more fundraising to keep things afloat.
If you are able to, consider adopting a local station (or a station in an underserved area) to help them continue their work:
